Lord, Save Me From the Vegans
There is not anything I dislike more than people who try to pass off their own feelings as fact. Religious nutters and racist bigots are generally the two main offenders. Unfortunately many vegans are now starting to fall into this category.
At the heart of the issue is the fact that veganism is a type of personal choice, kind of like deciding to get a Prince Albert. And yet there is a moving trend of evangelizing the vegan movement; just like evangelical christians, it gets annoying and preachy.
“But wait!” you say “We don’t have the right to use animals for our own personal gain!” I have two main problems with this view, first it ignores biological truths, secondly, to put animal rights on the level of human rights is a) not possible and b) damaging to existing human rights.
Therefore I am creating an extended vegan myth series, or as I like to call them, the long list of vegan assumptions.
I will cover:
Veganism and Proper Nutrition
The Soy Lobbyists and Your Heath
Medicine and Vivisection
To Hunt or Not to Hunt
Choose Your Kink: Fur or Leather
Everyone Loves Breasts: The Dairy Industry
My Dog’s a Vegan: Your Pet’s Health At Risk
The Dirty Truth About PETA
Why Fido Can’t Vote
I’m looking forward to this and you can bet I’ll have fun with it. I’ll be updating this page with the links as I update so if you don’t have the RSS feed just bookmark this page and check up on it every once in a while.
