It’s the Policies, Not the Kids
Palin, Palin, Palin.
Oh how the American Political scene has gone all a-twitter. Infant with Down Syndrome, knocked up teen and wait? Who the hell are you?
In some ways I feel for this woman. She has a lot on her plate and yet it’s very ironic. Had someone like Palin; minimal experience, a high needs child, and an “out of control” teenager, been elected to the Democratic ticket she would have been the ultimate fodder for the Republicans. Comments of “bad mother, bad candidate” would be dropped from the mouths of Republican pundits like beads flying around at Mardi Gras. So watching them eat up their own bile and try to spin Palin as a positive is downright amusing.
But like most Republicans she disgusts me. She could not care less about the environment and puts her personal religious judgements above the rights of citizens. I have to say it’s really hard to see how McCain is going to be any improvement over Bush, as he says he will be, when he fills his ticket with people who have no ideological differences from Bush and Co.
One thing really got my blood boiling however.
“Palin, who had served less than half a term as Alaska governor, is pro-life and during one debate she said she would still choose life even if her daughter was raped.”
I mean, isn’t that so nice of Sarah Palin? If one of her daughters was raped, whether it be Bristol or Willow or Piper, she would force her little girl to go through with a pregnancy. Apparently the opinion of the actual victim really doesn’t matter as long as Sarah looks good in the pro-life crowd. How can anyone support this attitude?
My advice? Leave the poor kids alone and take Sarah to task on stripping away her children’s autonomy.
