For Breast Cancer
In my working, actually making some money life I raise money for breast cancer. I was searching around CafePress to see if I could find some extra clothing to wear to different events. I thought “Hey, win, win. I can support an artist/small shop owner and help breast cancer.”
Type breast cancer in the search and I was very quickly disappointed. The vast majority were making no claims to donating any of the money they received and even those that did weren’t saying how much or even who to. So I said basically, “Screw this, I’m semi-artiscally challenged* I’ll make my own damn shirts.”
Created a simple cute design and started slapping in on stuff. What can I say, CafePress is fun. Now there is a store with the products.
I will be donating everything that CafePress does not take to Rethink Breast Cancer. They are Canada based, non-profit of course, and all volunteer. Every dollar that is donated to them will go directly to research and awareness. I will also be updating the store with more products in the future.
* I actually went to a graphic design program for a year if you can believe that.
