10 Rules for Riding the Bus

(From my passive-aggressive self.)

Do Give Up Your Seat to those who have limited mobility, the elderly and those who are pregnant etc.

Don’t Expect A Damn Seat because you did six months worth of shopping in stiletto heels.  Yes if someone was really nice they would give you a seat, but your poor planning combined with your tactics to guilt people make me want to continue resting my ass in those moulded plastic seats.

Do Line Up Politely.

Don’t Try to Be Sneaky and start another line.  I swear the next fatherfucker who tries that shit is getting an elbow in the jaw.

Do Fill Out the Standing Room on the bus to allow more people on.

Don’t Be the Asshole who decides that the completely packed bus can stand one more sardine.  Everyone hates you.

Do Plan Ahead know when you know your stop is coming up move towards the exits so you don’t have to perform the ‘last minute rush’.

Don’t Block the Doors, you know people are trying to get out so move you damn lazy sod.

Do Remember You Are in Public and try to have consideration for those around you.

Don’t Be Disgusting.  If you could please refrain from sneezing or coughing on other passengers, trying to touch complete strangers in inappropriate places or adjusting your crotch at others’ eye levels.

  1. I have a lot of experiences with buses :-D and these rules are really good :-)
I could add, that I hate, when somebody speaks loud there, especially when everybody is silent and I try to read my book. Or it is horrible, when a somebody who stinks sits right near you… But maybe it belongs under “Do Remember You Are in Public” rule.
And I could tell you stories about sardines :-D especially, when it is school year. Those school bags are out of the bus, while the owner is in the bus :-) (of course the bus cant leave until everybody and everything is in the bus) It is especially funny, when there is coming another bus, which goes the same way :-) Then I wait maybe a minute and I go with almost empty bus :-)
