Daily Wrap
So there is a large amount of concern of the C.difficile outbreak that is occurring at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. Personally I’m not all that concerned about it, I was a “brave” airport battler during the SARS scare. It just takes something a little more scary than an over 80% survival rate; alert me when we have an ebola or smallpox outbreak.
As you can imagine I haven’t necessarily been following the story all that closely, and I can’t tell you anything about it… except that it causes diarrhoea. Why do I know this? Well basically because CP24 is completely infatuated with the concept of evacuating bowels. I had the channel on for a couple hours this morning and it’s all they want to talk about and yet I’ve only learned three things. At St. Michael’s, it’s bad, and horrible water draining bowel evacuations.
Speaking of shit, let’s talk about General Motors. Ooo nice segue. So they will be shutting down four factories producing trucks and other large gas guzzling vehicles.
On all sides there are levels of stupidity. For GM: Are you finally just realizing that major sales of large inefficient vehicles are just not going to make it in a world of high gas prices? For the Province: When will you realize that throwing money at these large corporations is not the solution? Their loyalty lies with profits at whatever cost; they don’t give a damn about the workers or the Ontario economy. For CAW: While it’s great that you are making this public stance again GM, what are you really doing for your workers? You complain about lost manufacturing jobs but what are your long term solutions? And trust me the Canadian government needs to answer this one too.
